DOGGING The Blues - DEPRESSION

The feeling of empending doom is one of those things no one wants to talk about. Someone asks us how we are and we always say, "FINE! And how are you?" The fact is--we're not fine. We're overwhelmed, overworked and consequently, depressed. Our thoughts run wild with bad thoughts that we try hard to suppress. FATIGUED?

Interestingly, fatigue is a symptom of something not being right. Once again, your body is talking to you. Fatigue can be one of the earliest symptoms for serious diseases. It is also a sign of hypothyroidism and depression, and of course, is the cornerstone symptom of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (more on this one later).

Lifestyle of course, has a major impact on how we feel. If you're feeding your body garbage, you will feel like garbage. Surprised? I didn't think so. You know exactly what I'm talking about; you live life on a diet of Doritos and sodas, I guarantee you will not only look awful, you'll feel awful, too and will be as tired as tired can be, I must say.

EPA-DHA...

*The omega-3 fatty acids are essential to life at every stage of life, even before birth. They are found in the membrane of every cell in the body and help to ensure that the cell membrane is ideally equipped to do it's job. They are also used in the regulation of all biological functions, including those of the cardiovascular, reproductive, immune and nervous systems.

It follows that optimum health can only be achieved when sufficient omega-3s are obtained from diet. They help maintain good health, promote brain and vision development and protect against disease.

In chronic illness, it has been shown that an increase in the omega-3 fatty acids of marine origin can effect an improvement across a range of conditions, both physical and mental. Research is continually producing positive findings for these vital nutrients.

As the omega-3 fatty acids have powerful physiological effects, it is important that people on prescribed medicines, or who take aspirin on a regular basis, consult their doctor before taking fish oil supplements.
